M&M's update

I just realized there was an Oakcrest blog! It doesn't look like many of you have posted though :( What cute families you all have! A little update on me- I've been married to my sweetheart for 5 years! We have an 18 month old boy, Sam, who is so BUSY! He runs the show at our house and is so much fun! We bought a home in West Jordan about a year and a half ago and love it there! I'm a nurse and work at Primary Children's 1-2 nights a week and love it! I'm doing well! I have enjoyed looking at some of your blogs! I too have a blog but it is private. I would love to add you if you would like to see it! Send me an email! nanrsorensen@yahoo.com Hope you're all doing well, it was so fun to see some of you at our reunion this summer! I hope more people post so we can hear from you! Love M&M (Natalie Sorensen) P.S. Does anyone know how to add your blog to the list?

Broadway's update

Timber, I thinks it's just going to take a minute to catch on. Don't give up hope on this blog:) My husband and I are doing really well! Jerod has been sick this weekend. I love being able to take care of him and baby him. I don't like it when he doesn't feel good though, it breaks my heart. I'm teaching fifth grade and loving it! Each day is filled with so much joy and laughter. They are my children until we have our own. One of my favorite questions that I get is 'when are you guys planning on having children?' I always think.......'I'm 30 years old. Do you really think I'm going to wait?' We just haven't had any luck yet. So, we keep prepairing and waiting. People just crack me up. Well, I hope everyone is doing well!

Hey everyone! What is your favorite season, and why?
Mine is fall, because I like the weather cooling down, the beautiful fall leaves, and being able to wear a sweater!

Update on Zazu

Ok...everyone, bare with me. This is a long story! I wanted to update you on our Saga. Most of you know that my hubby and I had a great struggle with infertility. We tried for over 5 years. We had surgeries, insemination's...drugs after drugs (the list goes on). The Doctors could never find anything wrong with us. Shortly after 4 years my husband and I grieved our loss of never being able to bare children. We were ready to start the adoption process. We started out with LDS Family services. We were waiting and waiting. We had many potential birth mothers interested...however we were never chosen. Slowly...Heavenly Father started to plant thoughts in our heads about going through foster care and adopting a sibling group. (I am glad He did this slowly...otherwise I would have freaked out.) In the beginning of 2006 we started to get licensed to be foster parents. We had many obstacles put in our way...(we could tell Satin didn't want us to proceed) Of course that gave us resolve to continue. Two weeks after completing the very difficult process of being licensed, we had "THE CALL". We had been chosen to be parents of 3 children. (at the time 4, 3 and 12 months). We knew that this was it. We took them as fast as we could. I have been asked many times how I could go from 0 to 3. All I can say is...the Lord prepared me, and during those very difficult times (we had many)...He carried me. Of course going through Foster care...We couldn't adopt these children. They still had birth parents. For 6 months we had weekly "visits". I had to go supervise the birth parents. (a very difficult thing to do and another long story). By October of 2006...we were preparing to go to court to see whom the Judge would place the children with, Us or the Birth Parents. This was the hardest time of my life. I was preparing to give back my children...whom I loved and sacrificed for. The birth parents were fighting with all they had, to "get their kids back". About a week before court...I had a thought come to me...I wanted to send the biological Grandparents a scrapbook of "our summer together". Me and the kids put this together and mailed it to them. At court...we were preparing for a huge fight. We walk in their and one of the birth fathers asks to speak with my husband and I. He tells us that after seeing the scrapbook we made...he realized that he could never provide the children with what we had. He then went and relinquished all parental rights. (this was the most difficult thing I have ever seen). We then proceeded with court for the Birth Mother. After only a couple of hours of testimony. The Birth Mother stopped everything and she too said she wanted to relinquish. We walked out of that court room with legally free children. We were thrilled. Two months later...we were able to adopt all three and be sealed! I have never seen the Lords hand like I did during this time. The impossible, was possible...! Of course since then we have dealt with many issues. My children had therapy for many years. However, I am pleased to say they are doing miraculously well. They are wonderful, kids. We couldn't be happier. Well so sorry about the novel. I really don't know how else to tell our story. I am thrilled to be able to see a glimpse of your lives! I am so happy to see you all doing well. Love Mindy (ZAZU)

Let's get this blog going!!!

Hey everyone!
I just thought maybe we could all start posting what we are up to these days to start out with! Let's get this blog going!

I will start! This is Timber!
Since Oakcrest I have been able to do a lot of fun things! I worked up there one more year as an AD, which was fun! Then, I went on a mission to the Florida Tallahassee Mission which was the most amazing experience. I learned so much. It was so awesome to be able to teach people the gospel of Jesus Christ. Then, I came home and three months later was set up on a blind date with a cute guy, and it actually worked! We got married 6 months after I got home, and we moved back to Washington DC. Matthew got his MBA at Georgetown University while I worked at an Elementary School, as an Aide in the Special Education program. I LOVED my job back there! I also loved being able to travel all over the place. It was so wonderful to see tons of places where our nation's history took place. We saw a lot of it! Also, we were able to go to Prague, Czech Republic, in March '06. It was fabulous. Matthew had to go for a school project, and I got to go and see the sights! It was around that time that we found out we were pregnant with our little guy. We moved back to SLC after Matthew finished his Grad School, and lived with his parents for a couple years. Matthew Jr. was born in September '06 and is the cutest little guy ever! We moved in to our own home in January of this year. It is in Cottonwood Heights in the best ward ever! I love it! I am so lucky to be a stay at home mom. I work for Valley Mental Health doing Transcription work, which I love! It is hard some days to get motivated (like today!), but I love being able to spend time with my little boy! We are very happy! My hubby has a great job that he loves, and our life is very good! We enjoy fixing up our home, and are even putting a deck on today! :) Fun stuff!

I can't wait to see what all of you are up to!

Welcome!

Welcome to the Oakcrest 2000 Website! I think this will be such a fun way to keep in touch! I am sorry I am a little slow with getting this up! But, I am excited to get this started!

It was so much fun to see everyone at the reunion! We sure missed those of you who could not make it! We love you and look forward to hearing from everyone, and hearing updates on your life, since it has been so long since we have been able to get together! If you know of anyone's email address that is not involved on here, let me know, so that I can invite them.

Here's how to post:
It is pretty easy to start a new post. Just go up top and click on the "new post" tab (after you have signed in) and then start writing! If you want to add a picture, click on the photo icon (next to the "abc" icon) and upload. The video upload button is right next to the photo icon. When you are finished writing your post, click on the "publish post" button at the bottom of the page. If you want to comment on someones post, click on the comment button below the post. Nice and easy :) (sorry, Kodak! I stole these instructions from the '97 site! They were just so perfect and easy to understand!)

This will be a lot of fun! Happy posting! And feel free to post a LOT!
